Parent Organizations

We are fortunate to have multiple parent organizations working together to benefit the children at Ponderosa Elementary School.

PEPCO

The Ponderosa Enrichment Programs Committee (PEPCO) was founded with the primary purpose of raising money to provide additional support staff and enrichment programs.

PTSA

The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a parent group that partners with the Principal,Teachers, and Students for the benefit of all children at Ponderosa. PTSA raises funds annually via activities such as benefit nights, yearbook sales, and ice cream sales. PTSA activities and programs include Science Fair, staff appreciation luncheons, cultural assemblies, Halloween Happening, and more.

School Site Council

School Site Council (SSC), comprised of the principal, school staff, and parents, develops the School Site Plan, focusing on curriculum improvement and review. SSC typically funds activities that support the health and well-being of students and advancement of the school as a whole. SSC sponsors activities and programs such as Safe Routes to School, Mornings with Mom/Daybreak with Dads, and DELAC/ELAC (District-level English Language Advisory Committee). SSC receives state funding but has no ability to raise additional funds.

ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee)

The ELAC shall be responsible for advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English learners and the School Site Council on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
